As we await critic reviews  we wanted to share some fantastic audience feedback for The Family Shakespeare playing through April 30th at the June Havoc Theater.

"I really enjoyed The Family Shakespeare. As a Shakespeare lover since childhood, the story and themes appealed to me. The play was beautifully written, acted, and directed. Every actor was impressively talented, moving, and gifted with compelling stage presence. They created complex, memorable characters from the writer's rich material. Production values were of the highest caliber--exquisite costumes, sets, lighting, and music. This is a very important and provocative play. I give it my highest recommendation." -Linda Roberts

"I ENJOYED IT AND THOUGHT IT HAD JUST THE RIGHT BALANCE OF ERUDITION AND DRAMA." -Marjorie Heins (activist, author of "Not in Front of the Children: 'Indecency', Censorship, and the Innocence of Youth")

"The Family Shakespeare was an interesting portrayal of William Shakespeare’s works with the censorship twist that would make a third world dictator proud. Yet, this censorship was not of political or religious view points but of real world realities that a loving parent would want to shield their children from.Without elaborating on every aspect on David Stallings’ work, it was interesting to see how Henrietta Bowdler and the little boy enjoyed their magical world of a filtered Shakespeare. I really liked this play; it was beautifully staged, original in concept and, for me, educational." -Willie Pizarro

"MTWorks' leading ladies wowed me. Costumes really gorgeous. Very good laughs in spite of dark turn/themes. Glad I saw it!" -Margarette Connor
