Company actor member Lowell Byer's new play Kriegsgefangenen (Prisoner of War) will receive a reading on Tuesday, June 28th at 7pm at Shetler Studios (244 W 54th St).

Based on a series of interviews conducted by Byers, Kriegsgefangenen (Prisoner of War) follows the 13 month saga of Louis Blanding Fowler from the time his B-24 Liberator was shot down over Austria, in March of 1944, to his escape in East Prussia from his Nazi captors, in April of 1945. It is a story of cruelty, hardship, fear, and deprivation. Through his captivity, Lou searches for a purpose, for some reason, for his ordeal.

Reading is free.
