August 2008 Anais Nin Goes To Hell by David Stallings Directed by Cristina Alicea A black comedy of mythic proportions, David Stallings', Anais Nin Goes to Hell is set on an island off the coast of Hades on the river Styx. A select group of women - including Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, and Queen Victoria - inhabit this island and are waiting for their men, or in Joan's case God himself, to come save them. Their afterlife is turned upside down when female erotica writer, Anais Nin is shipwrecked on their shore. Filled with whimsy, mayhem, and even a giant sea-monster, this existential farce is a delightful answer to Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot". the International Fringe Festival NYC this summer!
